Africa Allah had the opportunity to chop it up with Bahamian Mas Band owner Theo Cooper about the successes and challenges of Bahamas Carnival 2023. Cooper shared insight into how he navigated through COVID-19 restrictions to make sure that carnival goers were still able to enjoy their experience safely, as well as changes in approach for future seasons. He also discussed his projections for 2024 season and what steps are being taken by his mas band now in order to ensure success later on down the line. It was an insightful conversation which provided great insight into how one of Bahamian’s most beloved cultural events is adapting during these unprecedented times.
