Get ready for the ultimate carnival experience, captured in our exclusive Inside the Festival video series.
Africa and Dalia are taking viewers behind the scenes, offering candid, humorous, and insightful commentary as they prep for the whirlwind of festivities. And while some of the team may have enjoyed a bit of anonymity in the past, this year, it’s all about stepping into the spotlight and embracing the full experience.
Pre-Carnival Warm-Up: Events Before the Main Weekend
Before the official start of Bahamas Carnival Fete Weekend, several exciting events are lined up to set the tone:
May 30 – Down-Home Fish Fry at Montagu Bay
This event features a star-studded lineup of Bahamian talent including KB, Johnny K, Blotty, Chino D, and many others. It’s all about soaking up the local flavor—literally and figuratively—while supporting homegrown artists in a laid-back, festive atmosphere.

May 31 – Lush Night Cooler Cruise
A crowd favorite from previous years, Lush is a nighttime cooler cruise with a sunset vibe. Bring your cooler (just remember: no glass bottles allowed!), enjoy a fully stocked bar, and savor some delicious food aboard. It’s the perfect prelude before diving into the carnival madness.
June 1 – The Real Work (and Play) Begins
According to Africa and Dalia, June 1st marks the official start of serious carnival business. Behind the scenes, it’s a logistical whirlwind—sponsors, liquor, event coordination, and more. But for attendees, it means pure vibes.
Soca vs. Dancehall Clash
Held at Breezes, this musical face-off is one for the books. Expect powerful sets from Giselle “The Wassi One,” Eternal Vibes, DJ Fresh, Bravo, Buddy, and challengers like 1K, Pusha, and Lil Giant. Hosted by King Alpha Sounds, this event promises high-energy rivalry and crowd-thrilling entertainment. For full details, fans are encouraged to check out Alpha Sounds’ Instagram.
June 4 – The Link Up: Soca Vibes + J’ouvert Package Pickup
The week officially kicks off with the Soca Link Up, doubling as the J’ouvert package pickup. Taking place on June 4, this free-to-enter party is more than just a logistics stop—it’s the first major social moment of the week.
Over the years, The Link Up has become known for its surprise guests, spontaneous energy, and vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re a veteran or new to the carnival scene, this is where crews form and friendships begin. If you’re still thinking about purchasing a J’ouvert package, it’s not too late—but don’t wait too long!
June 5 – Dutty Crew J’ouvert: The Dutty Time Machine
For those arriving later, don’t worry—you can still make the Dutty Crew J’ouvert, held on Thursday night (June 5). This is the official launch of the Bahamas Carnival Fete Weekend, starting with a pre-party at 9 PM and leading into one of the most anticipated events of the year.
This year’s theme? The Dutty Time Machine. Revelers are invited to dress for any era—past or future. Whether you’re channeling Madonna in the ’80s, donning hippie fringe and Elton John sunglasses, or rocking a futuristic robotic look, the sky’s the limit.
Can’t make it in time for pickup? No problem—Dalia has personally delivered packages to hotel receptions or made them available at the door. But supplies are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
June 6 – Just the Lime: Liquid Breakfast & Vibes
After the wild energy of J’ouvert, Friday morning (June 6) brings the laid-back but lively Just the Lime event at Flamingo’s Bar and Lounge—the same venue as the Soca Link-Up.
This is no ordinary breakfast. Think curated food menus, 32-ounce mimosas, margaritas, rum buckets, and a specialty D’Ussé breakfast cocktail dubbed the B-Team. While refillable drink packages have already sold out, individual drinks will still be available for purchase.
Tickets
are digital-only and capped at $20, ensuring easy access for everyone. Beyond the food and drink, expect games, music, and a communal vibe that fuels you for the rest of the day.
Stay tuned for “Inside the Festival” video series and documentary, where we’ll continue our journey through Bahamas Carnival with even more Fetes, road experiences, and inside scoops from Dalia and Africa. The party’s just getting started.
